With more and more application of automatic doors, many users offer new demand for electric lock. For the convevience of new automatic doors installing companies, the following are some suggestions for selecting and using electric lock.
The locking function of automatic doors is realized in several ways: electric lock, magnetic lock, self lock of eletric motor.
Electric lock
The earliest automatic doors apply the electric locks. There are two kinds of electic locks in the market: dedicated and nondedicated. Dedicated electric locks were first imported from Taiwan and is especially designed for all kinds of automatic door. The working principle is that after recieving the signal from an inductor or access controller, the electric lock opens the lock first and then open the door. Such working principle can avoid the case that the door is opened while the lock is not. And the control unit of lock can delay the trasmission of door-open signal, which is why it is called dedicated lock. Dedicated electric locks have the advantage of making it more difficult to open the door destructively or by force.
However, such locks have complex connection modes, are expensive and provided only by manufacturers specialized in automatic doors. Domestic manufacturers can try independent research and development, and the lock body can be equipped with general electric lock. Common electric lock can not delay the tramsmission of door-open signal, and lock-open signals are transmitted by at the same time. Thus the door might be opened faster than the lock, and the spreader bumps into the unopened lock that causes the malfunction of automatic doors. The news reports that people are locked in self-service bank are of the same situation.
Magnetic lock
Magnetic locks, like electric doors, are also designed for dedicated and nondedicated use. But the former works by sucking doors with magnetic force while the latter works by stucking doors with locks. Magnetic locks provide the advantage that the doors are clozed without any space, so that accidents made by children can be avoided. The shortcoming of magnetic locks is that the doors will be opened when the bearing capacity is surpassed.
